Tactical Expert Edwin (Eddie) Garcia has worked for the Kentucky Army National Guard for 24 years. He entered the Kentucky Army National Guard in Oct of 1994 as a Combat Medic at a Battalion Aid Station for a tank Bn., then transferred to 20th Special Forces Group (A) as voice interceptor/cryptologic linguist in the military intelligence field. Eddie has held the positions of Team Leader, Squad Leader, SOT-A Team Chief (Special Operations Team-Alpha), Detachment Sergeant (Platoon Sergeant), and 1SG (First Sergeant), Equal Opportunity Representative, Detachment NCOIC of the Kentucky SARTS (Small Arms Readiness Training Section, Mobilization Close Quarter Battle and Marksmanship Training and Competition Team). Eddie has been a member of the Kentucky State Marksmanship Competition team for three years.
Eddie has deployed with the 20th SFG (A) on numerous occasions to include linguistic support to NATO exercises and medical exercises to Ecuador (3 times) and Argentina as well as a CONUS deployment to secure the International Airport in support of Operation Noble Eagle. He was certified by the FAA as a baggage inspector deployed to an international airport as armed anti-terrorist security at the security gate immediately after 9-11-01. Eddie has been on two combat tours to Afghanistan (2002-2003) and Iraq (2011) Operations Enduring Freedom and New Dawn.
Eddie graduated Joint Support Operations (Kentucky Marijuana Strike Force) train-up in 1997. He has worked for the Kentucky counter-drug organization, Joint Support Operations, for 21 years. Eddie has successfully held the positions of Ground Reconnaissance Operator, Recon Team Leader, Training NCO, Intelligence Analyst, NCOIC (Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge), as well as Administrative NCOIC and Budget NCOIC. Joint Support Operations Counter drug supports city, county, state, and federal law enforcement with counter narcotic reconnaissance in urban and rural, indoor and outdoor, under any environmental condition of known drug traffickers/cultivators to provide filmed evidence leading to an arrest and disruption of a drug trafficking organization. KCDO supports numerous sheriff offices, local police departments, Kentucky State Troopers, FBI, CIA, Secret Service, DEA, U.S. Marshall Service, U.S. Post Office, Criminal Investigations Division of the Army, Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement, and numerous state drug task forces. Eddie is currently a Criminal Intelligence Analyst assigned to a local police department. Eddie has also maintained a TS (SCI) clearance with polygraph since 1997.
Eddie has extensive experience working close personal security for Threat Solutions 2005-2016 and The Bulwarks 2016 to the present, to include armed/unarmed personal protective services, armed mobile force protection, unarmed client training, basic/advanced pistol and rifle training, and concealed carry deadly weapons training.
